 2/1/09 - Congrats to Tonya for the win! Jackie K. gets 2nd place, Lou B. 3rd place. Tonya finished in 34th (last) place last year... quite the turnaround. After Tonya's NFC pick (Minnesota) lost in the first round I told her "you're out, you have no shot at winning", figuring at least one person out of 57 would pick the correct super bowl matchup... what a crazy game. Last year's winner, Tom W., finished in 20th. Makayla, my 4-year-old niece, was the only person to pick the tiebreaker exactly of 50 points but she picked the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl. After 4 years of running this tournament we still haven't had a perfect bracket but this year we did get a new record from Jeanine P... she picked every game wrong for 0 points.
1/3/09 - After 2 wild card games, only 5 people picked San Diego and Arizona, so those 5 are tied for 1st place. The Colts losing really shook up the standings as 82% of the field chose the Colts in the first round.
1/3/09 - Received 1 update at 4:20pm. Dave P. changed his tiebreaker to 48.

How To Play
Pick the winning teams all the way to the Super Bowl. View and print bracket here http://hillcave.com/football/playoffs/nflplayoffs_2008.jpg - Or use the template below to email your picks to me. Include name, email address, and tiebreaker when submitting your picks. Tiebreaker is total combined points scored in the Super Bowl, going over does not matter, closest wins. Submit picks and $5 entry fee to me by Friday January 2nd.

Important: Note that if you pick Baltimore to beat Miami, Baltimore will play Tennessee in the divisional playoff. If you pick Philadelphia to beat Minnesota, Philadelphia will play New York in the divisional playoff. This is because in the NFL playoffs the #1 seeds are assured of playing the lowest-seeded Wild Card survivor.

Rules
One entry per person. Each correct pick will be awarded points: 1 point for Wild Card winners, 2 points for Divisional winners, 3 points for Conference winners, 4 points for Super Bowl winner. Final standings will be based on total points. The tiebreaker will break all ties. If results are still tied, payouts will be split evenly. The top 3 places are paid, 1st gets 60%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 10%. After I receive all the entries, everyone's picks will be posted online at http://hillcave.com/football/playoffs/2008.html
