1. Introduction

1.1 Commissioner

Commissioner - Jason
Backup Commissioner - Bill

The Commissioner's duty is to make sure all league actions are carried out throughout the season, while making sure fairness and integrity are adhered to in all decisions.

2. League Structure and Requirements

2.1 Teams and Divisions

The league is made up of 6 teams in 1 division. This league is a standard "re-draft" league, meaning players are not kept from year to year. Every year each team must draft an entire new roster. Teams will compete in head-to-head competition each week whereby the winner is the team whose starting lineup scores more points than the starting lineup of their opponent. Player points are determined by the scoring system detailed in section 5.

2.2 Internet Access

All owners are required to have Internet access. If Internet is not accessible, owners are responsible for letting their opponent and the Commissioner know ahead of time if they need something changed with their weekly starting lineup. All reports and transactions are published on the Yahoo league site and all league announcements are sent via email.

2.3 Rule Changes

Any vote taken by the league to change a rule requires a majority vote to pass. In theory, everything will be covered and defined properly in the rules at the start of the year, however, we all know new things can come up. If we find something drastically wrong (error in scoring rules for example), we'll simply vote on how it should be updated and make the update based on majority vote. If someone has a new idea, we can vote on it and make changes during the offseason.

3. League Fees and Payouts

3.1 Owner Costs

The league buyin per team is $20.00 and is due at the draft. An owner vote of 6 out of 6 is required to lower or raise the buyin from it's current $20. The Commissioner will hold the money and make payouts after the end of week 16.

3.2 League Costs

We use a free Yahoo league so there are no league costs.

3.3 League Payouts

With 6 teams we will have a $120.00 pot, to be divided as such:
Super Bowl Champion: $100.00
2nd Place: $20.00

4. Rosters and Lineups

4.1 Active Roster

Rosters must consist of 18 active NFL players or team defenses. Owners are responsible for drafting enough players at each position to submit a starting lineup each week.

4.2 Players and Positions

Players must be considered either a Quarterback (QB), Running Back (RB), Wide Receiver (WR), Tight End (TE), or Kicker (K). The final position required is Team Defense (DEF), in which you pick an entire team's defense, for example the Miami Dolphins.

4.3 Starting Lineups

Owners must set the following starting lineup each week. 13 positions consisting of:

2 QB
2 RB
2 WR
2 TE
2 “FLEX” which can be either a RB, WR, or TE
2 K
1 DEF

Players can be started or benched up until the start of their NFL game kickoff. Players are locked by Yahoo at the kickoff of their game.

League will adhere to Yahoo's scoring dispute rules.
If you have a scoring dispute notify the Commissioner and we'll consult the NFL.com gamebook then file a dispute with Yahoo if the dispute is valid.

6. The Draft

The draft is 18 rounds. The draft order is determined randomly, for example by blindly pulling names from a bag. The draft will be run in a serpentine "snake" order.

Owners may not draft any team other than their own. If you do not attend the draft you must have a proxy (someone who is not in the league) draft for you or you will not be allowed to play.

7. Waivers/Free Agents

In 2013 we changed our Waivers/Free Agents rules to use the Yahoo web site to manage our weekly requests, rather than sending the Commissioner an email each week like we did in the past.

Waiver Rule: Game Time - Tuesday: With this setting, free agents will be placed on waivers as soon as their game begins each week, while players on a bye week will be placed on waivers at 5:30pm PT Mondays. All unowned players will become available when the claim period ends at 11:59 pm PT on Tuesday.

Determine waiver priority by: Continual rolling list: Waiver claims are processed in waiver priority order, and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list. The list never resets.

Time players are on waivers: 2 days.

Maximum player acquisitions for entire season: No maximum

8. Trading

8.1 Core Rules

The weekly trading deadline is kickoff on Sunday. If a trade includes player(s) that have already played that week (such as a Thursday game) the trade will not be accepted until the following week. All owners involved in a trade must email or call the Commissioner with the details of the trade and their approval. Any trade involving the Commissioner will be communicated to the Backup Commissioner. Commissioner will announce all trades to the league via email. Traded players cannot be traded back to their previous team for 3 weeks unless the player has already been traded to a 3rd team in between.

8.2 Trade Deadline

The season trading deadline is in Week 11. For 2015 this is November 13th.

9. Schedule and Playoffs

9.1 Regular Season

Our fantasy football regular season is 14 games and played during weeks 1 to 14 of the NFL season. The regular season schedule is setup randomly by Yahoo. Check the "Schedule" tab on the Yahoo league site.

9.2 Playoffs and Super Bowl

The playoff tournament will last 2 weeks and take place during weeks 15 and 16 of the NFL season. The top 4 teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs. The bottom 6 teams (5th through 10th place) do not compete in any playoffs after the regular season is over. The playoff matchups are:

Semifinals (Week 15)
GAME1: 1st place vs. 4th place
GAME2: 2nd place vs. 3rd place

Championship Week (Week 16)
SUPER BOWL: Winner of Game1 vs. Winner of Game2
3RD PLACE: Loser of Game1 vs. Loser of Game2

10. Tiebreakers

Regular season games may end in a tie and they will be recorded as such in the standings.

To break a tie for overall standings and playoff placement we will use Yahoo's tiebreak rules. To break a tie in a playoff game, we will use Yahoo's tiebreak rules.

11. Owner Conduct

It is expected that all owners will, at all times, conduct themselves in a competitive and sportsmanlike manner during all league events, discussions with other owners and activities. Owners agree not to collude with other owners to the potential detriment of the league as a whole.

Owners agree at all times to not act in a way that may be perceived as them "giving up" on the season or making a mockery of the league. Even if an owner is "out" of the playoffs, please continue to field the best team you can and make it fun for everyone. All owners are expected to take the 15 minutes a week it takes to check the injury report and the bye weeks and submit a valid lineup.
